What methods are used?

for guitarists and electric bassists: tablature is used as an easy alternative to conventional note-reading. Reading music is highly suggested and encouraged, though, and the manner in which we teach TAB is a good preparation for this.
for the more conventional instruments: although note reading is more common, we like to stress ear development. If at all possible, we want students to play in one of our bands!
music theory and jazz fundamentals: these are encouraged, and can be tutored separately as preparation for high school jazz band and/or college courses.
